FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here’s a little guide to how we do things at Crowell Designs!

READY-TO-WEAR: We offer unique, handcrafted pieces that are ready to ship and wear.

MADE-TO-ORDER: These are collection pieces handcrafted just for you once your order is placed.

MADE-TO-ORDER TIMELINE: Please allow up to 3-4 weeks for shipping, as each piece is made with care and precision.

CUSTOM ORDERS: At this time, we do not accept custom requests.

HOW WILL I KNOW ABOUT COLLECTION RELEASES?

  • Collection release dates will always be posted in our Instagram bio.
  • You’ll also find release dates in the website header for quick access.
  • Follow us on social media! We share countdowns and sneak peeks in our stories so you never miss a drop.

CUSTOMER SERVICE HOURS

Have a question? You can reach us Monday–Friday, 9 AM–4 PM (PST) at CrowellDesignsStudio@gmail.com, and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Important: Please don’t send order-related inquiries via Instagram DMs! DMs are harder to track, and we don’t want to miss your message.

CAN I CANCEL OR CHANGE MY ORDER?

Changes or cancellations must be made within 24 hours of placing your order. After that, your order is already in progress and cannot be altered.

For collection releases, cancellations must be made on the same day of purchase. Collection pieces often sell out, and cancellations after the release date can make it difficult to find new buyers.

Please email us at CrowellDesignsStudio@gmail.com for all order changes or cancellations, including gift card purchases.

RETURNS: FINAL SALE

All sales are final, as every piece is made-to-order with care.

Why no returns? Because our jewelry is handcrafted and often customized, reselling returned pieces isn’t possible. To ensure you’re confident in your purchase, we offer ring sizers in our shop to help you find your perfect fit before ordering.

Thank you for understanding and supporting small, handcrafted businesses like ours!

DO YOU OFFER REPAIRS?

Yes! Our jewelry is designed to last, but life happens.

If there’s a defect beyond your control (like a clasp breaking), we’ll replace it.

For accidental damage (e.g., a chain breaking after being vacuumed), we can discuss repair options, but these will come with a fee.

Reach out to us if you need help with a repair.

WILL MY JEWELRY TARNISH?

All fine metals naturally tarnish over time:

  • Brass: Tarnishes the fastest.
  • Sterling Silver: Tarnishes slower but still needs care.
  • 14k Gold: Can last years with proper care.

Tips to keep your jewelry shiny:

- Store in a dry area, away from moisture (your bathroom is a no-go!).

- To clean, use warm soapy water and a scratch-free polishing cloth.

WILL MY FINGER TURN GREEN?

This depends on your skin chemistry. We use 14kt gold and sterling silver, which are hypoallergenic and high-quality metals. However, if you experience irritation, it may be due to a metal allergy or interactions with skincare products. Adjusting your routine could help!

WHAT IF I LOSE ONE EARRING?

If you lose an earring, contact us! As long as we have matching materials, we can make a replacement for 50% of the original price.

WHY DO MY STONES LOOK SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT?

Every piece we create is handcrafted and one-of-a-kind. We hand-select gemstones for their unique beauty and do our best to choose stones that closely match the listing photos. However, slight differences are possible, and that’s part of the charm of handmade jewelry.

HOW ARE PHOTOS TAKEN, AND WHY DOES MY JEWELRY LOOK DIFFERENT IN PERSON?

Our jewelry is photographed under professional, bright lighting to capture every detail of the piece. This lighting can sometimes make gemstones or metal textures appear slightly different than they do in natural or indoor lighting.

Gemstones, in particular, can vary in appearance depending on the light source:

  • Natural light: Brings out the truest colors and brilliance.
  • Artificial light: May soften or enhance certain tones.

We strive to make our photos as accurate as possible, but please keep in mind how lighting can influence the look of your jewelry.
